The Taste of Tradition

At Mas del Vilà, every product tells a story of our land. From the moment the olives and hazelnuts are harvested on our estate in Vinyols i els Arcs, to the care and dedication of local artisans, each item reflects generations of knowledge and passion.

Our Extra Virgin Olive Oil is born from groves nurtured for decades, carrying with it the aroma of the Mediterranean and the essence of Baix Camp. Alongside it, you’ll find treasures crafted with the same devotion to authenticity: rich and creamy cheeses from El Pallars Sobirà, fragrant medicinal herbs gathered in the Alt Pirineu Natural Park, the pure and mineral taste of Gerri salt, and many other artisanal delights.

Every flavor is rooted in tradition, every product chosen with love — so that when you taste them, you’re savoring a piece of our heritage.

Our Story

Although the history of Mas del Vilà goes back much further, this project truly began in 2011, when Montse and Josep Maria decided to mill the estate’s carefully selected olives and bottle the resulting oil under the Mas del Vilà brand.

The roots of our family tradition reach back to the late 1920s, coinciding with the Universal Exhibition in Barcelona. Our paternal great-grandparents, Pere Massó Gaudí and Teresa Vidal Benach (pictured here), opened an oil and soap shop on Gran Via— the first in the city to sell artisanal products from the Baix Camp region.

A few years later, around 1940, the family continued its journey by running Colmado Nogués on Avinguda Gaudí, a well-known grocery store during the post-war years, famous for its wide variety of products and much-anticipated promotions.

Meanwhile, on the maternal side, Anton Vidal Mas (El Ton del Mas Vilà) and Maria Gispert Masip were cultivating and taking care of the olive trees and land activity of Mas Vilà in Vinyols.

In 2011—more than 80 years later—Montse and Josep Maria honored this legacy, and especially the memory of Ton Vidal (El Vilà), by continuing to expand and care for the olive groves at Vinyols. With the desire to revive family tradition, they took the next step: directly milling the olives from their estate to create a premium Extra Virgin Olive Oil. This oil, bottled under the name MAS del VILÀ, is the one we proudly present to you today.

Our first harvest in 2012 marked the beginning of this new chapter. It was met with enthusiasm from customers around the world, encouraging us to grow and diversify. Over time, we have incorporated new products—derived from olive oil, the olive tree itself, and other trusted artisanal specialties from our region—always with the same commitment to quality and tradition.

For us, this project is not simply a business. It is a shared journey where producers and clients walk side by side. Each bottle, each product, carries with it trust, respect, and a piece of our heritage.

When you bring Mas del Vilà into your home, you become part of our family — a community that celebrates good taste, honest work, and the timeless bond between people and the earth.

Rooted in Vinyols i els Arcs

Mas del Vilà is more than a name — it is a place with deep roots. Our estate lies in Vinyols i els Arcs, in the heart of the Baix Camp region of Catalonia. Here, between the sea breeze of the Mediterranean and the strength of the nearby mountains, olive and hazelnut trees have thrived for generations.

This landscape shapes the flavor of everything we create. The soil, the climate, the rhythm of the seasons — all leave their mark on our olive oil and on every product we share with you.

To know Mas del Vilà is to know our land: generous, authentic, and full of life.
